Jeanine Pirro fired back at Robert De Niro over his anti-Trump remarks, questioning what he has done for New York City. The Fox News host challenged De Niro’s contributions, asking if he had built any skyscrapers or altered the city’s skyline. De Niro, a Manhattan native, co-founded the Tribeca Festival in 2002 to help revitalize the area after 9/11 and serves on the board of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
Pirro addressed her viewers, saying, “What has Robert De Niro done for New York City? Is there a building with your name on it? Have you changed the skyline with your vision?”
Outside a Manhattan court during Trump’s hush money trial, De Niro expressed his love for New York and criticized Trump, saying, “I love this city. I don’t want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy the city, the country, and eventually the world. He wants to sow total chaos.”
In a 2015 interview, De Niro emphasized his connection to the city, saying, “I am a New Yorker. It’s a place where people come to find themselves, be anonymous, or be part of a community. I like New York because it has seasons. I’m a New Yorker. I like to stay here.”
De Niro’s remarks and actions underscore his deep connection to New York City and his commitment to supporting and revitalizing it.
