It is with deep sorrow that we pay tribute to Johnny Wactor, the beloved star of General Hospital, who tragically passed away at the age of 37. Johnny’s life was cruelly cut short on a Saturday morning in Los Angeles when he heroically intervened to protect a coworker from thieves attempting to steal his catalytic converter.

Wactor’s courage and selflessness shone brightly in his final moments. After finishing a shift at a rooftop bar, he was walking his coworker to her car when he noticed three masked men near his vehicle. Initially thinking his car was being towed, he quickly realized the true danger when one of the men brandished a gun. Without hesitation, Wactor shielded his coworker, embodying the true spirit of a Southern gentleman.

Johnny’s brother, Grant, shared with the Daily Mail, “We’re proud Southerners, and we would never let a woman walk to her car alone.” He described Johnny as an incredibly hardworking individual, both in his acting career and as a family member. “I believe my brother worked harder than anyone I’ve ever known. He was a devoted son and a loving brother,” Grant added.

The news of Wactor’s untimely death sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and among General Hospital fans. Fellow actor William deVry, also from the show, expressed his grief, calling the tragedy “senseless” and highlighting Johnny’s profound impact on those around him. On social media, deVry wrote, “There are no words to describe how pointless this loss is. Johnny was an incredible person. This is just heartbreaking. Rest in peace, Johnny Wactor. Sending love and comfort to his family and friends.”

Parry Shen, who shared the screen with Wactor on General Hospital, remembered his friend’s beautiful soul. Shen praised Johnny’s talent, sense of humor, and readiness for anything. He fondly recalled the wonderful times they shared, both on and off-screen, expressing his deep admiration for Wactor as a person.

Sofia Mattsson, who played Johnny’s wife on the show, took to Instagram to express her admiration for him. She highlighted Johnny’s honesty, care, humility, and work ethic, noting how he brought happiness and kindness to everyone he met. Mattsson cherished their time together and called him a true inspiration.

The entire General Hospital family is mourning the loss of Johnny Wactor. They recognized his unique presence and extended their heartfelt condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.

As the investigation continues, the Central Division Homicide of the Los Angeles Police Department is working diligently to bring justice to those responsible for this tragedy. The General Hospital community stands united in remembering Johnny Wactor’s legacy and the profound impact he had on all who knew him.
