The sun paints the sky in hues of orange and pink as I pull my small boat onto the shore of Lake Ohrid. The cool morning air is filled with the gentle lapping of waves and the chirping of birds. I’ve been fishing on this lake since I was a boy, and it’s still as magical to me as it was then.

I cast my nets into the crystal-clear waters, hoping for a good catch. The lake is teeming with life – trout, carp, and the occasional pike. As I wait for my nets to fill, I can’t help but marvel at the beauty of my surroundings. The mountains rise majestically from the water’s edge, their peaks shrouded in mist.

After a few hours, I haul in my nets and sort through the fish. I keep the ones we’ll eat and throw the rest back into the lake. As I row back to shore, I feel a sense of peace and tranquility. Fishing is more than just a job to me; it’s a way of life. It connects me to the land, the water, and the rhythm of nature.

As I prepare the fish for dinner, I think about how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place. Struga is a small town, but it has a rich history and culture. The people here are warm and welcoming, and there’s always something to do. Whether it’s exploring the ancient monastery of St. Naum, swimming in the lake, or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery, there’s never a dull moment.
