Dad Responds to Trolls Criticizing Him for Kissing His Son on the Lips

Tom, a father from Yorkshire, England, never misses a chance to show love for his young son, Roman. However, when videos of him kissing his five-year-old on the lips began circulating on social media, some viewers weren’t pleased. Despite being attacked online, Tom refuses to back down, defending his parenting choices with humor and logic.

Facing accusations that he’s confusing his son, Tom has stood firm. In one TikTok video, he addressed a commenter who advised him not to kiss Roman on the lips, saying, “I will kiss my son, my five-year-old child, on the lips for as long as he lets me, because I love him to bits and he’s my best pal. One day he won’t want to, so for now, I’ll carry on as I am.”

Support for Tom poured in, with many followers sharing their own experiences and thoughts. One user remarked, “I always kissed my dad on the lips, and I lost him two years ago. I wish I could cuddle him and kiss him again.” Another added, “You kiss away, you two. Some people are just sick.”

When someone claimed that kissing Roman could lead to cavities, Tom responded with a humorous video, asking his son what he thought. Roman giggled and dismissed the idea, sealing the moment with a kiss on his dad’s lips.

In another video, Tom addressed a commenter who warned that kissing his son might make the boy vulnerable to strangers. Tom responded sarcastically, “So the logic here is, if I kiss my five-year-old, he’ll think it’s okay to kiss strangers? Obviously!” He then suggested a more reasonable approach: teaching children the difference between safe, loving gestures at home and inappropriate behavior with strangers.

Despite the criticism, Tom remains unapologetic and continues to share his affection for his son. He also pointed out the double standard, noting that if a mother kissed her child on the lips, there would likely be no backlash.

Tom’s strong stance and the overwhelming support from his followers highlight the importance of allowing parents to raise their children in a loving, nurturing environment without interference from online trolls. What are your thoughts on parents kissing their children on the lips? Does the gender of the parent make a difference?
