Netflix App to Stop Working on 60 Types of TVs Next Month, Leaving Thousands Without Access

Netflix fans with certain types of TVs will soon find that the app for the popular streaming service will no longer work on their devices. Despite being one of the largest streaming platforms, Netflix will no longer be supported on as many as 60 different models of smart TVs in just a few weeks.

If you’re worried about your TV becoming obsolete for streaming your favorite shows, there’s some relief: the affected models are all about ten years old. So, if you’re using an older TV, it might be time for an upgrade.

While most smart TVs are capable of supporting Netflix, certain older models will no longer be compatible. This includes 16 different models of Sony TVs and two generations of Apple TV, along with an additional 42 Sony TV models.

For most of these models, the Netflix app will stop working on July 24, 2024, while the final 16 models will lose access on July 23, 2024. Additionally, Netflix will no longer be supported on second and third generation Apple TVs starting July 31, 2024.

If your model is on this list and you wish to continue streaming Netflix, you’ll need to find an alternative way or switch to a different streaming service.
