Pete Davidson at Auburn University: Mental Health Talk and Oversharing Moments

After Monday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Pete Davidson headed to Auburn University for Welcome Week, where he was scheduled to participate in a mental health talk followed by a Q&A session with students on Thursday evening. The Saturday Night Live star has been open about his struggles with Borderline Personality Disorder.

During the event, one student naturally asked Davidson about his engagement to Ariana Grande, prompting cheers from the audience. Davidson replied, “It’s like what you would think it was like but like a hundred times better. It’s lit. I’m a very, very lucky boy and very, very loved.” He then added humorously, “And my (…) is forever hard,” to more cheers and laughter from the crowd.

Grande, who accompanied Davidson to Alabama for the event, later laughed off his comments on her Instagram story, writing, “Bae was funny and brilliant today as always.” Clearly, she wasn’t bothered by her fiancé’s candidness.

Davidson’s playful oversharing aligns with the couple’s public dynamic, and while it might raise some eyebrows, it certainly entertains. As they say, the couple that laughs together, stays together.

In a recent interview promoting his upcoming show Bupkis, Davidson was asked about the attention on his private life. “I don’t understand. It’s really not that special,” he said. “It’s a very normal size. It’s not too big or too small. It’s big enough to enjoy and not big enough for it to hurt, is what I was told.”
