In a viral moment that has shocked the entertainment world, Brass Against’s frontwoman, Sophia Urista, urinated on a male fan’s face during a performance in Daytona, Florida, on Thursday night, 11/11/21. The incident, captured on video, quickly spread across social media.
Mid-performance at the Welcome to Rockville festival, Urista announced to the crowd, “I gotta pee, and I can’t make it to the bathroom, so we might as well make a show out of it.” She then invited a male fan onto the stage, instructed him to lie down, and proceeded to urinate on his face while performing Rage Against the Machine’s “Wake Up.”
Before the incident, Urista allegedly said, “Get my man with the can on his head ready, ’cause we’re going to bring him onstage and I’ma p–s in this motherf–ker’s mouth,” according to the Independent.
The Daytona Beach Police are investigating after receiving a complaint on their Facebook account about the incident. Indecent exposure in Florida can result in up to a year in jail or a $1,000 fine.
The footage, which surfaced on social media, drew mixed reactions. Some condemned Urista, calling her actions “pure trash” and a criminal offense, while others expressed their approval. Brass Against issued an apology on Twitter, stating, “We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.”
Despite some fans describing the act as “madness” and “wrong,” with one Twitter user calling it “devilish,” the band’s apology highlighted their commitment to preventing such incidents in the future.
