The ‘Blank Space’ singer, currently enjoying immense success and even reaching billionaire status thanks to the tour, faced scrutiny over the incident.

Swift’s recent tour stop in Edinburgh, Scotland, saw her performing her biggest hits despite the chilly UK summer. A fan-shot video showed Swift wiping her nose on stage, with snot visible on her fingers. The short clip, which showed her lowering her hand near her sparkly mini-skirt, quickly went viral.

Despite the attention, many fans and internet users defended Swift, calling her actions ‘human’. One social media user wrote, “What is the problem here? Shows that she’s human just like everyone when they don’t have access to a Kleenex.” Another added, “This is so relatable, why are people judging?” A third remarked, “So ppl are bullying Taylor today for checks notes wiping away boogers? During the Edinburgh show, Swift also created a heartwarming moment by pausing her performance to highlight a surprise proposal in the crowd. After one of her songs, she addressed the audience, saying, “I love performing this entire show in the sunlight, because I’m pretty sure I just saw somebody getting engaged over here.” Pointing to the area where the proposal occurred, she excitedly confirmed the engagement, adding, “You have no idea. I never get to see that cos it’s like dark usually at night, but it’s not right now, so congratulations! I saw that whole thing. Man that’s amazing. Thanks for doing that at my concert, that’s a big moment, huge.”

The surprise proposal happened as she performed ‘Cardigan’, and fans quickly took to social media to praise Swift’s response and congratulate the newly engaged couple.
