A family vacation in Maine took a heartbreaking turn for the Morgan family of Stockholm, New Jersey. Their 6-year-old daughter, Lucy, passed away after a freak accident while playing badminton.

According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, a faulty badminton racket caused the aluminum shaft to detach and strike Lucy in the head. The incident occurred on June 1st while Lucy was playing with her brother. Despite medical attention, Lucy succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.

Lucy’s father, Jesse Morgan, a pastor at Green Pond Bible Chapel, expressed his grief in a blog post. He encouraged others to cherish their loved ones and shared his faith as a source of strength during this difficult time.

A memorial service for Lucy will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. and livestreamed at greenpondbible.org. The Green Pond Bible Chapel community offered their condolences and support to the family.
